The water and I.

I went to SC this weekend unfortunately I say that because I don’t like that state but anyway these are the couple pictures that I took.
I watched Space Cowboys tonight,it wasn’t the 1st time that I had seen it but at the end there is a Frank Sinatra song. I never noticed this before tonight, I like the song and Frank Sinatra in general and will have to start working on my Frank Sinatra collection asap. This is an old performance of his from En el Kiel Opera House de St. Louis, el dia del padre en 1965.
This is a ball of rice. No i didn’t make this rice it was ordered at a restaurant. I took this picture because I could actually pick it up and it wouldn’t move. Needless to say though it was still eaten-_- peace.
This is one of Barbara’s favorite artist and I told her I would post one of his songs so here it is.
Across The Seas Conversation
About 6 to 8 months ago i received a friend request from a Barbara Cilluffo, needless to say I didn't recognize the name.so I clicked on her page looked at where she was from and it said Palermo, Italy. Now I have never been outside of the US so I knew I didn't know this person and they didn't know me but I accept the request because I will except anyones. As I continued to look at her page and noticed that she was a DJ and her music interest were identical to mine so right off the bat she is cool in my mind. Last week I realized I had never spoke to her so I inbox-ed her asking if I could send her some questions about being a DJ and just her life she quickly responded and loved the idea so this is the result.
1.1.In the US there are hardly any female DJ's and the ones that do DJ do not get the same respect or publicity as the men who do it is it the same there?
(Barbara)-Yes almost it's the same or maybe even worse because aside from a few in Italy the men themselves aren't even unified so imagine how a female DJ must feel.
2.How long have you been a DJ?
(Barbara)I started messing around with it when I was 20 but just as a joke because my ex and my best friends were DJ’s. I have a lot of respect for the art of mixing and DJ’ing as a whole because for me a DJ is a musician not a jukebox and I cannot imagine my life without music.
3.I know you play house and hip-hop but do you also play other genres?
(Barbara)I love all good music Abstract Hip hop, Soul, Neo Soul, Funky, Jazz, Blues, Afro beat, Arabian music, everything with a rhythm and above of all old school and underground music.
4.I know you love rap music who are some of your favorite rappers and are there any Italian rappers that are good that I wouldn't know about.
- (Barbara)I love lots of artists:
Jay Dilla (R.I.P.) Slum Village, GURU (R.I.P),Busta Rhymes, Mos Def, Declaime, Method Man, Rza, Gza,Ghostface(all of wu tang), Nametag, LMNO, Ellay Khule, Chali 2Na and Jurassic 5, Abstract Rude...I think the language is better suited for the American rap because I like the sound, the timbre of the voice metrics. Perhaps the meaning of the lyrics is interesting for everybody but I have noticed that sometimes European or Japanese is more sophisticated, but I do not think they are comparable to American rappers .The only rap I like is USA rap, MC Solaar and Myshap Square Lohkoh are from France and they are cool but I really don't like Italian rap aside from my friend Mad Buddy.
5..I assume you were born and raised in Italy have you ever been to the US.
(Barbara) Man I've been to USA many times. The first time I went I was in L.A. in 1993 for 2 months. Then I travelled from L.A. to Chicago by car with my cousin. Then one year later I went to NY and I've fell in love with that city. I’ve been to Miami too but NY is my city!
6.Who is the biggest artist there in any genre.
(Barbara) Do u mean Italian? I'm sorry but I don't listen Italian music is too traditional for me. I'm sure there are a lot of good artists but it's not my kind of music. I love Ennio Morricone and I think he is really famous. Mina is one of the greatest Italian artists ever and if she was in the US I'm sure she would be just as popular there as she is here.
7..Is it hard to be a DJ because i know you have to play music that you think or know other people will like?
(Barbara)For me it is very hard because I really don't like mainstream music. I say it again music and culture in Italy is very traditional and in Sicily Island (where I live) it's all they listen to. That's why I play particularly at contest dance events.
8.Do you rap or sing?
(Barbara)No way. I dance and I teach sport and dance.
9.Thank you for doing this I have to come to Italy Asap.
(Barbara)You are welcome man, it was a pleasure. You can come anytime you want.
To say like at this point would be an understatement To say love would be taking it way to far Like alot is just about right Why? If you look up the definition of woman your name shows up You have far exceeded all of my wants and even my expectations Maybe because I didn’t know your kind existed In the past I have quickly disregarded things that were important to me hoping that the person would eventually stop doing what I despised like drinking, smoking etc. But you Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo(rick ross voice) Don’t change a thing You have to be the most amazing female I have ever met You are smart, beautiful, goofy, you have all of your teeth, you dont be ashy, and you keep youself clean What more could a guy ask for? Plus the fact that you are willing and want to take your time to make sure its right and that it last draws me to you even more Your beauty extends far beyond your physical features
